What is your time actually going on, and what is it costing you?

Why this exists

Most senior lawyers can name the work that should not be reaching them. Very few can put a number on it. Without the number, nothing changes, because there is nothing to weigh a decision against.

The diagnostic produces the number. Then it shows you the three or four changes that recover the most hours for the least disruption.

What happens

• Before the call. A short questionnaire and, if you are willing, a week of your calendar. Ten minutes of your time, and it makes the session twice as useful.
• The session. Ninety minutes, video or in person if you are near Zurich. We go through a normal week hour by hour and sort it: what only you can do, what your team should own, what should never have been a task at all.
• The report. Within five working days. Where the hours go, what they are worth at your charge-out rate, the specific changes ranked by return, and what each one takes to put in place.
• The follow-up. A 30-minute call two weeks later to work through anything the report raised.

Who it is for

Managing partners and senior lawyers who bill at a serious rate and spend too much of the week on work that does not need their judgment. It is most useful if you have between two and twenty fee earners around you. Below that there is nobody to hand to. Above that, the problem is usually structural and needs a different conversation.

My side of the deal

If the report does not identify at least £395 of recoverable time over the next year, at your own charge-out rate, I refund the fee. I have not had to do that yet. The maths on this is usually not close.
